Storm Season is already here!

October 18th, 2009

Well since we’ve already had our first (winter?) storm, we’re changing our Storm Watching Package to start now, October 19th — stay 3 nights for the price of 2! That’s at our fall/winter rate of $135 per night plus GST. We still include some breakfast supplies for you to make your own breakfast at your leisure.

Here is a link to some amazing storm footage taken last winter from the Wild Pacific Trail here in Ucluelet, just a 4-block walk away:

Snuggle up on the new cabin nook

October 7th, 2009
We’re always striving to improve the cabins, so this spring we replaced the tables and chairs with new custom upholstered corner nooks and pedestal tables. Not only more comfortable for dining, the nook offers a cozy spot to put your feet up and read a book by the window or watch a DVD.
With winter and storm season coming, you’ll want to cocoon in the cabin after a brisk walk on the Wild Pacific Trail, make a hot chocolate and settle in for the evening. New hooks outside the cabin door will allow your rain gear to drip-dry while you put on the fireplace, some great music, and watch twilight fall on the harbour. Life doesn’t get much better than that!

Spring Rate Extended!

June 12th, 2009

It’s true, we’ve extended our spring rate of $135 per night to June 25th. Normally our summer rate of $185 kicks in June 15th, but with the economy the way it is, we’re doing what we can to help travellers stretch their dollars and enjoy their stay that much more here on the beautiful, wild West Coast.

A family of Orcas graced us with their presence again on Sunday June 7th — looked like a family of a male, a female and two young “kids”. They came into the harbour around 10:30 that morning, romped around in front of our cabins, then slipped back out of the harbour an hour later. Locals with kayaks were quick to launch with hopes of paddling along side the Killer Whales, but they were too fast to catch up to.

Do come and visit us — we are Wildlife Central with dozens of bald eagles, comical sea lions, harbour seals and river otters all vying for your attention. We look forward to greeting you here at Anchors Inn!
